NaNoWriMo!
Ok, so I would just you all to be the first (and possibly only) to know that this month I plan to attempt my first nanowrimo! and for those of you who haven't the foggiest as to what that is, it's a writing contest. The challenge is to write a 50,000 word novel from november 1-30. I've joined late, and I have no idea what to write about, but this is my first one, so wish me luck and lemme know if you think of a plot! lol Click here for more info about the contest.

Oh my God!!! I've heard about that! I actually have the book that walks you through how to do it. It's called, No Plot, No Problem.
So, that just leaves the questions, "What to write about?" I would say your mascarade. Seriously, you could make it into a thriller wih the mysterious deaths of runway models (sorry, a bit morbid for 11AM) or a romantic-comedy sort of thing.
Good luck, Andy! I'd love to read whatever you come up with. :)
Sweet! Let us know if you win.
JM
That is awesome....only a month to write....I would be dying right now. lol You can do it Andy!!! What's the prize if you win??
ummmmm the pride of writnig so much so fast, lol. that's about it.
WOW Andy! That's an awesome opportunity and quite the task. I don't what 50,000 words looks like but I can only imagine it's pretty long. Good luck! Babble on and if you need a tag out, I'll write a couple pages for you - on the other hand, the judges may consider that cheating...
WOW man that is impressive. Fifty thousand words in a month, maybe you could write about the kung-fu nation of planet Hooyah! Just think about it, could work. Have fun with it man, again impressive.
Holy torture test! You have my complete respect for attempting such a task! UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE on it pretty pretty please?! I want to know how the process is going mister!
Andy, that's awesome! I have never heard of that but peeked around your link. Way cool. If I may suggest, you have an extremely clever and semi-dry wit; you should write something that shows off your sense of humor. Remember your radio ad stuff? The bit about the volcanic eruption was really good. Maybe you could do a "last days" kinda thing - historical fiction with a sarcastic tone. Hee hee.
Good luck with that.
Sounds fun Andy that is a short time to right a 50000 word novel but I am sure you are capable of it.
Good luck, Andy!
I love the idea of the write a novel in a month. I joined the annual write a novel in a weekend competition a couple years ago and wrote a novella over Labor Day weekend. (I think you can google 3-day novel contest and find it, if you're interested for next year.)
I also wrote a screenplay in a month during a competition to do so and came in third place. It was a huge boost to the ego and just to know I could do it that fast. I've since rewritten that script so many times and the latest version is on the verge of being funded (or so my manager has told me).
So shoot for the stars. And have fun!
May the muse be with you!
